Creating opportunities for Peruvian creative services companies in Australia
At the end of 2018, GTPA was engaged by the Peru Trade Commission to conduct international business training for 20 creative industries companies in Peru.The training included modules on doing business with Australia.
Australia Awards: Women Trading Globally
Funded through DFAT by the Aid for Trade programme, GTPA was contracted by the Export Council of Australia to deliver two Women Trading Globally international business training courses to groups of women from South Asia and the Pacific. GTPA was responsible for all logistics, travel arrangements, chaperoning, programme development and delivery of the two programmes in 2018.This included presenting the training, engaging guest speakers and mentoring the women after hours. GTPA has an ongoing mentoring relationship with all course participants across a total of 20 countries.
Development of Global Business Diagnostic Tool
GTPA is working with KPMG to develop their Global Business Diagnostic Tool.GTPA has developed all the content for this tool, and is actively engaged in the technical back-end aspects of the development. GTPA has a profit share arrangement with KPMG.
UK-Australia FTA Study: Addressing market access barriers
The Global Trade Professionals Alliance (GTPA) was engaged by the British High Commission (BHC) Canberra to prepare an analytical report on market access barriers facing a potential UK-Australia Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

- boost the efficiency of trade processes.

Ziyaad Ebrahim, GTP
Ziyaad has close to fifteen years of experience in international trade and development.He joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) after serving 12 years in various positions within the Government of Seychelles, where he comes from.
During his time in the Government of Seychelles, he was directly involved in trade, investment and general economic policy formulation and implementation.He also has experience on WTO accession and was involved in FTA negotiations with the European Union and within the Eastern and Southern African region. He has also worked with international organisations such as the IMF, World Bank and the African Development Bank on Structural Adjustment Programmes, private sector and MSME development initiatives including gender empowerment projects.
In his current role with the WTO, he coordinates the work of the WTO LDC Group in the ongoing trade negotiations.He also monitors and assists LDC participation in specific areas of the negotiations which include Special and Differential Treatment (S&DT), fisheries subsidies, trade facilitation and LDC accession negotiations.
He is fluent in English and has working knowledge of French.
Ziyaad was one of the first people globally to be certified as a Global Trade Professional in the area of Trade Management.
