GTPA welcomes two new members to the International and Technical Advisory Committee
The GTPA would like to welcome two new members to the ITAC committee, Jim Redden and Mona Shrestha Adhikari.
Ms. Mona Shrestha Adhikari, PhD is the Executive Director of Enterprise for Management, Economic Reform & Gender Equality (EMERGE) and also works as an independent development consultant. She believes in equitable, inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development and is passionate about women’s empowerment. She has more than 25 years of experience working in the private sector, national and international non-governmental organizations and international organizations.
Ms. Mona Shrestha Adhikari, PhD is the Executive Director of Enterprise for Management, Economic Reform & Gender Equality (EMERGE) and also works as an independent development consultant. She believes in equitable, inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development and is passionate about women’s empowerment. She has more than 25 years of experience working in the private sector, national and international non-governmental organizations and international organizations.
Her experience ranges from working with organisations like the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the International Trade Centre (ITC)in Geneva, the Economic Policy Incubator project of Department for International Development (DFID)/Palladium Group in Nepal, and the Australian Red Cross Society. She also served as a Gender and Trade Advisor of South Asia Regional Trade Facilitation Programme (SARTFP), a project supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australian Government.
She has also worked with Action Aid offices in Nepal and Sri Lanka, Forum for Protection of Public Interest (Pro Public) and South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment (SAWTEE) on areas relating to education, child rights, trade and development, women rights and gender equality.
Jim Redden
Jim Redden has served on the Australian Trade Minister’s WTO Advisory Committee and has been part of the Australian Government’s official delegation to a number of WTO Ministerial meetings and Global Aid for Trade reviews. He continues to advise the Australian Government on international trade and inclusive economic issues of concern to developing countries, in particular on Aid for Trade.
Jim is currently undertaking a strategic review of Australia’s multilateral Aid for Trade program, is advising on trade related development issues in the Pacific and until recently was an external trade and gender advisor for DFAT’s South Asia Regional Trade Facilitation Program.
In addition to jointly running a small consulting company and lecturing into Master Degree courses at the University of Adelaide in trade policy, global business and international aid and development. Mr Redden is the Executive Officer of the Australian Trade and Development Business Network, a private sector organisation which facilitates private-public partnerships for development and advocates for a stronger role for a responsible private sector in global poverty reduction activities. Mr. Redden has post-graduate degrees in International Trade, International Development, and Economics and in Education.
Jim is currently the Director, Trade and Development for the Economic Development Services Pty Ltd and a Senior Lecturer & Visiting Fellow for the Institute for International Trade & the International Business School at the University of Adelaide.
